STRENGTH IS ONLY FROM GOD

Isaiah 40:1-31; Psalm 147:4–6; Philippians 4:13;

Psalm 46:1–3; 2 Corinthians 12:9–10

KEY VERSE

Isaiah 40:29

He gives strength to the weary,

And to him who lacks might He increases power.

OUTLINE

I. Failure and troubling times are just a part of our fallen world. However, for the believer, especially the mature believer, there is a message of forgiveness, hope, comfort, encouragement, and future relief that only God can give. (Isaiah 40:1-31)

II. For the mature believer, there is no other source of strength other than God. (Psalm 46:1; 147:4; Phil 4:13; 2 Corinthians 12:9–10 )

III. Therefore, as mature believers, we know that God brings the wicked to their knees and He sustains us, the humble, for His glory because He is the EVERLASTING GOD, and THE CREATOR OF ALL THINGS. (Isaiah 40:3-28)

IV. Again, true strength and power to overcome this world only comes from God, and the mature believers go to God in their times of weakness. (Isaiah 40:29-31)

What are we if we are not with God, if we do not serve God, if we do not believe in Jesus as the Savior? Well then, we are just fallen, weak, wearing the sinful nature of humanity that has no real hope or purpose in life. However, with Christ as our Savior, we stand before the King, with His strength, and wear the righteousness of our GOD – Jesus Christ.

All our hope is in JESUS CHRIST.
